This modern daruma takes on the form of a maneki-neko (beckoning cat), a popular Japanese icon for bringing good luck. A collaboration between Imai Daruma and a Japanese designer, this maneki-neko is made with the same papier-mâché techniques used to traditionally produce daruma dolls in Takasaki. Nowadays, modern designs of daruma are being produced alongside their more traditional counterparts.
Available in white and black.
